Beyond ethical sourcing, we’re actively working to reduce our environmental footprint. Our head office, warehouse, and embroidery department are powered by solar energy, significantly lowering our reliance on non-renewable power sources. We’ve also introduced water-harvesting systems to help conserve water and support sustainability across our operations.

Renewable Energy Initiatives
We maintain 182kW of solar power capacity across five locations, storing surplus energy with 22.1kW of battery storage to reduce dependency on non-renewable sources.

Water Conservation
We can harvest up to 80,000 litres of rainwater in our storage tanks located at our Morwell headquarters to reduce reliance on municipal water supplies.

Uniform & Boot Recycling
We assist our clients with recycling old uniforms which are securely turned into industrial cleaning cloths and insultation materials. To date, we have also helped recycle over 20,000 pairs of boots.

Modern Slavery Act
The Australian government introduced the Modern Slavery Act to combat slavery within business supply chains. Companies with an annual turnover of $100 million or more are mandated to comply. As a supplier to such companies, Ausworkwear & Safety conducts annual audits of our supply chain and reports any risks of modern slavery, ensuring ethical and transparent practices.

Ethical Clothing Australia
Ausworkwear & Safety is accredited by Ethical Clothing Australia, a non-profit organisation that audits Australian clothing suppliers to ensure fair and safe working conditions. Their rigorous audit process safeguards local workers throughout the entire supply chain, including subcontractors, ensuring they work safely, receive fair wages, and obtain all legal entitlements.

Ethical Suppliers Register
Ausworkwear & Safety is proudly registered with the Victorian Government Ethical Supplier Register. This register lists local manufacturers of clothing, workwear, and PPE that have undergone rigorous third-party audits of their supply chains. Being listed signifies that we meet the high standards required to provide uniforms for government departments, ensuring ethical and responsible business practices.

APCO Membership

Social Accountability International
Ausworkwear & Safety has implemented an offshore supplier code of practice to ensure that all international manufacturers we engage meet SA8000 standards for social responsibility and workplace practices. The SA8000 Standard is grounded in internationally recognised standards of decent work, such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, ILO conventions, and national laws. This standard employs a management-systems approach to social performance, emphasising continual improvement over checklist-style auditing.

Workwear Recycling Initiatives
Ausworkwear & Safety is committed to sustainability and responsible environmental practices. Our recycling initiatives include a comprehensive boot, PPE and clothing recycling programs, ensuring that worn-out uniforms, footwear and equipment are recycled responsibly, reducing waste and environmental impact. By partnering with specialised recycling facilities, we transform used materials into new, usable products, contributing to a circular economy.
